About

Welcome to the AntiBudget.

My name is Martin Anderson. Since 2016, I’ve been on a relentless quest for the perfect budgeting system. Today, it is finally over—at least for me.

The destination of that quest was to find a clear and minimalist system that required no tracking of receipts. In 2019, after testing dozens of different budget templates and apps, I started to build and structure my own framework into an MS Excel spreadsheet, developing and refining it through continuous use.

Over time, the template organically shaped itself around natural financial behavior, without the daily admin. By early 2026, the final product was ready, and it turned out so well that I decided to share it with the world.

But as I began searching for a name for my project, I discovered that this exact system and philosophy already existed, under the name anti-budget. So, instead of forcing a new marketing term, I stuck with the original name that had already been coined, and named my tool the AntiBudget Spreadsheet.

While the AntiBudget Spreadsheet has kept my finances on track for years, I wasn’t fully satisfied with it until this final version—and refused to share it before it was good enough. An intentionally simple spreadsheet, yet meticulously crafted in every detail. Built for global use.

If you are new to the Anti-Budget philosophy, here’s how it works.

While the spreadsheet is the perfect foundation, we are already developing the official AntiBudget web app to make managing your wealth even more seamless, automated, and beautiful.
